In the Blink of an Eye…….

In the Blink of an Eye…….

. . . . .  I was thinking about what to do with the kids’ rooms now that they are out of the house and well on their own.  HOLD ON!  When did this all happen?  It happened, seriously, in the blink of an eye.

One is living 900+ miles away, and the other is now about 2 miles away.  In either case, the physical distance doesn’t make a difference when their bedrooms upstairs aren’t being used by them anymore.

Both kids found athletics to be a passion.  For our daughter, it was volleyball, soccer, and Tae Kwon Do.  For our son, it was football and ice hockey.   Staying on top of the laundry and house duties, along with working full-time, was insanity with their practice and game schedules. . . . .  but I wouldn’t have traded it for the world.

Recently, I was visiting our daughter in South Carolina, where she now calls home.  It was beautiful to see all the green, and flowers in bloom!  She is a volleyball coach and is in the throes of  the club season, so we spent the weekend in the gym . . . TOGETHER . . . at practices and lessons.  It was heaven, absolute heaven!

Funny the things we saw as chores and responsibilities, at one point in time, become such blessings.
